Picture this – a sun-kissed morning, the gentle rustling of leaves, and the soft babbling of a river in the background. This is where I had the honor of capturing the love story of Alan and Meredith, a couple who met during their college days. Their shared love for nature was evident from the moment they stepped foot into Patapsco Valley State Park for their engagement session. And let me tell you, there's something truly magical about witnessing love and nature harmonize like a symphony.
We decided to introduce a drone to the mix, capturing breathtaking aerial shots that showcased the vastness of Patapsco Valley State Park. This was our first time really flying the drone and we were a bit nervous- especially because I had a vision that NEEDED to come to life. I had visited the location several times prior to our session taking notes on the lighting and location so our session could "fly" as seamless as possible. And the most wonderful part? The result was better than my vision.
It was a sight to behold – the sprawling landscapes, the winding river, and Alan and Meredith, two souls intertwined in love, against the canvas of nature's grandeur. This unique perspective added a touch of awe and wonder to an already incredible session.
As we ventured further into the park, we found ourselves in a dreamy meadow surrounded by river weeds. Alan and Meredith, lost in the moment, swayed and danced as if no one was watching. The vibrant greenery and the soft sunlight created a scene straight out of a fairytale. And trust me, there's nothing quite like witnessing a couple's love come alive in the heart of nature. I watched as Alan whispered words to Meredith and Meredith giggled and embraced Alan. They were in their own moment, exactly everything I look to achieve from a portrait session.
As a wedding photographer, I live for those raw, authentic moments that capture the essence of a couple's connection. Alan and Meredith's laughter and stolen glances as they walked hand in hand along the riverbank – those are the moments that warm my heart. Every snapshot I took seemed to tell a unique story, painting a vivid picture of their journey against the backdrop of towering trees and the glistening water.
